It’s amazing what one little word can do for your blog.
The other day, I posted a bit of micro fiction that I wrote a few years back, called “The Art of Love Making.” It wasn’t anything provocative or noteworthy but I was still proud of it. Well, of course I put sex as one of the tags, thinking nothing of it.
For those not familiar with WordPress, you use tags on your posts so that they are easier to find when someone searches for something of interest. I’ve used quite a number of them and it just so happened that “sex” was one of the tags I used on that particular post. That was my highest day to date, netting me 57 unique hits… the most searched tag? Sex.
That’s not a power I will abuse, of course, because I think it’s wrong to promote yourself based on trigger words you know will get people to click on your posts. At the same time, I’m thinking of conducting an experiment to see which trigger words register the highest number of hits. Call me curious.
I’ll start with this post… sex will be one of the tag words. Let’s see how many hits I garner off of that trigger word alone. This should be fun.

My most searched phrase is “being a pirate is alright with me” and variants thereof. Go figure.
Sad, really.
I did get almost half of the same amount of clicks though. Funny how that works. People really do have one thing on the brain.
